Ciao amici e fans
Qualcuno di voi avrà notato che non controllo il myspace da
almeno un anno. Questi ultimi mesi sono stati un po’ difficili per me e Frankly
e sinceramente non sapevo cosa dire qui, ma ora posso parlare liberamente e
partecipare alla community, quindi accettate questo mio blog come un mio grande
saluto.
Le voci sono vere. Gabriel & Dresden si sono separati
definitivamente. Io e Josh ci siamo separati artisticamente, è stata una
decisione comune, presa tranquillamente, che servirà a tutti e 2 per esaminare
noi stessi come artisti individuali, almeno per un po’. La nostra ultima data è
stata al beatport pool party in Miami il 30 marzo. Per tutti coloro che erano
presenti, colgo l’occasione per ringraziarli uno ad uno per quello che ci avete
trasmesso. Non dimenticherò mai quell’ora e 15 minuti perché ho sentito tutto l’amore
di quelle mani per aria.
Dopo il WMC sono andato all’ospedale per un operazione alla
spalla. Dopo costanti slogature della spalla finalmente ora dovrebbe essere
tutto ok, volevo togliere di mezzo questo problemino proprio per presentarmi al
meglio come solo artist verso maggio.
Sono stato anche molto indaffarato con il mio studio e la
mia musica. Ho fatto una traccia con il mio amico Chris Cox a febbraio
intitolato “Hole Wide” – forse qualcuno di voi l’avrà già ascoltata sull’essential
selection di Pete Tong di qualche giorno fa. Chi non l’ha sentita può dare un occhiata su
bbc.co.uk/radio1 ed ascoltare la puntata.
Mi ci vorranno un altro paio di settimane per recuperare
totalmente dall’operazione, dopo di che annuncerò i miei progetti di tour.

rumors, truths, hello
hello friends and fans
some of you may have noticed that i have not checked into myspace
at all this year. it has been quite a few troubling months for me and
frankly i just didn’t know what to say here, but now i can talk freely
and participate in the community and so please accept this blog as my
grand hello.
yes, the rumor is true. Gabriel & Dresden and parted ways for
the time being. Over the past year, Josh and i have been moving apart
as artists and we decided rather than milk it and be moderately happy
together that we separate and examine ourselves as individual artists
for a while. Our final date was the beatport pool party in miami on
march 30th. For those who were there, i want to thank each and every
one of you for showing Josh and I the love and support that you did. A
lot of the set was songs that we have individually been working on
interspersed with a few fan favorites. I will remember that hour and 15
minutes forever because i certainly felt the love with all the hands in
the air and the well-wishes.
After WMC i went into the hospital to have shoulder surgery. I had
a torn rotator cuff and after years of constant dislocations to my
shoulder, i wanted to get that out of the way so that i can be 100%
when i hit the road in mid-may as a solo artist.
I have also been very busy in the studio with my own music. I made
a track with my good friend chris cox back in february called "Hole
Wide" - it samples a relatively obscure song from the 80’s band tears
for fears "advice for the young at heart" and it’s the kind of
feel-good house i have always wanted to make but never did. Some of you
may have caught it on pete tong’s essential selection show yesterday.

the show. he played it right before the essential new tune.
it will take a few more weeks for me to recover fully from my operation and then i will announce my tour plans.
and for the 1000’s of people who have reuested to be my friend, please be patient, i will add all of you.

p.s. i’d also like to thank all of those who voted for gabriel
& dresden "best american dj" for the 2nd year running. it was an
excellent way for us to go out: a bang!
